Klingklusion develops accessible digital musical instruments that enable children to take part in music.
In an educational context, instruments are often used whose requirements are difficult or impossible for many children with disabilities to meet. Many professionals feel overwhelmed when it comes to inclusion, and there is a lack of suitable instruments and materials. This is precisely where Klingklusion comes in: we combine accessible digital instruments with teaching materials for direct use in practice.
The first product is a digital guitar on which chords can be selected via coloured buttons and plucked or strummed using a touch slider. In this way, the cultural significance and appeal of traditional stringed instruments are translated into an accessible digital format.
The product was developed through a participatory process involving children and music teachers.
